Replace Missing Teeth With Dental Implants in Bedford, NH

Long-Lasting, High-Quality Regular & Immediate Dental Implants in Bedford, New Hampshire

Restore Your Smile & Your Oral Health

Do you need to replace any missing or damaged teeth? Are you worried about your oral health? We can help!

A dental implant is the best option to replace missing teeth. It is an artificial root usually made of titanium metal that is inserted into the jawbone to replace the root of the natural tooth. We attach an artificial tooth that looks just like your natural teeth to the implant, making the implant an anchor that holds the artificial tooth in place.

We offer dental implants to all individuals in good health with healthy gums and enough bone in the jaw to hold an implant. If your jawbone has shrunk or if it has not developed normally, you may need to have a bone graft first to add new bone to your jawbone. We’ll be able to advise you on the right solution for you after an initial consultation.

At Dental Arts of Bedford, we aim to provide excellent dental care to each and every patient. Your health is our goal!

The Dental Arts of Bedford Implant Process

  • Step 1: Initial Consultation

Our expert dentists will carefully examine your mouth and take x-rays of your head, jaw, and teeth to find out if dental implants are right for you. If they are, we’ll move right ahead to placement.

  • Step 2: Implant Placement

To ensure your comfort, you will receive anesthesia before the surgical process begins. Once it kicks in, we will make an incision in your gums, place the dental implant, and then stitch the gums closed over the implant.

This will take some time to heal (3-6 months) and even more time for the jawbone to fully integrate with the implant. The jawbone must heal while the implant secures itself firmly into the gum tissue.

  • Step 3: Implant Restoration

Once the tissue heals and the bone has fused with the implant, we’ll ask you to come back for your second surgery. This time, we will create another incision in your gums to expose the implant. We will then attach an abutment to the dental implant and stitch the gums closed, leaving the abutment exposed. The abutment is the point of connection between the implant and your restoration. This will take about two weeks to heal.

  • Step 4: Artificial Tooth Attachment

Eventually, when you have recovered, we’ll attach an artificial custom-made replacement tooth onto the abutment. After this is done, your new tooth will look just like a real one, your smile will be restored, you’ll gain maximum chewing capabilities, and you’ll finally be all done!

Immediate Dental Implants

Don’t want to wait so long for your dental implant? Nervous about how your smile with multiple missing teeth will look? No worries, we also offer immediate dental implants in Bedford, NH.

An immediate dental implant, or Teeth in a Day®, is placed in the jawbone immediately after a single tooth (or teeth) extraction. It is usually placed in the same visit as the extraction but can be done after two weeks and still qualify as an immediate dental implant.

This safe and effective treatment for replacing missing teeth is a good option if you have enough natural bone and an implant secure enough to support immediate placement and pressure on the new tooth.

With our help, you don’t have to go without your natural teeth or deal with long and inconvenient restorations. The team at Dental Arts of Bedford can provide patients with immediate implant care when needed, learn more...

What Patients Are Saying About Us Online

"I have been seeing Dr. Sam for a number of years. This is my second implant and he is the best at what he does. No pain after extraction and no discomfort from the implant. The first implant is inline with rest of my teeth (front) and looks great. I wouldn't go anywhere else. The staff that assists him are amazing, ready to put you at ease and always a friendly attitude. Highly recommend for all your dental needs."

★★★★★

"For the past few years, I have had a few crowns done by Dr. Sam which went well. Now he has given me one new implant to replace a cracked tooth. The tooth extraction and the implanted surgical fixture were done fairly quickly and painlessly. After the procedure, Dr. Sam recommended that I buy some ibuprofen and acetaminophen in case there might be some discomfort later. Surprisingly, there was no pain later either. I never took any medication. My wife also had the procedure done twice and never needed to take any pain killers afterwards either. I have been very happy with the services provided by this office and especially with how this procedure went."

- Robert B.

★★★★★

"I've had several crowns done by Dr. Sam with no issues at all. However, they recently detected a fractured molar under an old crown. I opted for an implant, but I'd never had a tooth extracted.

As it turned out, I was far more nervous than necessary. There was no bleeding, and the next morning one ibuprofin eliminated the minor discomfort. Not a big deal at all. Dr. Sam and Lindsay have a calm bedside manner. Nice work."

Frequently Asked Questions About Dental Implants in Bedford, NH

  • What is a dental implant, and how does it work?

A dental implant is a titanium post that is surgically placed into your jawbone to serve as a sturdy root for a replacement tooth. Once the implant integrates with the bone—a process called osseointegration—it becomes a permanent foundation for a crown, bridge, or denture. This restoration looks, feels, and functions like your natural teeth.

  • Who is a good candidate for dental implants?

Good candidates for dental implants are individuals in generally good health who have healthy gums and enough jawbone to support an implant. During your initial consultation at Dental Arts of Bedford, we’ll evaluate your oral health using x-rays and digital imaging to determine whether implants are right for you. If needed, we may recommend bone grafting before proceeding with implants.

  • What’s the difference between regular and immediate dental implants?

Regular dental implants involve a multi-stage process where healing time is required between implant placement and crown attachment. Immediate dental implants, also known as Teeth in a Day®, are placed at the same time as tooth extraction or shortly after—allowing for quicker tooth replacement. Immediate implants are ideal for patients with sufficient bone and healthy surrounding tissue.

  • How long does the dental implant process take?

The process typically takes between 3 to 6 months for regular dental implants. This includes the healing period required for the bone to fuse with the implant before the abutment and artificial tooth are attached. Immediate implants shorten the overall timeframe since the implant and temporary restoration can be placed in a single appointment, though final restorations may still require healing.

  • Is the dental implant procedure painful?

The procedure is performed under local anesthesia, so you won’t feel pain during surgery. Some discomfort or swelling is expected post-surgery, but it can be managed with over-the-counter pain relievers or medication prescribed by our dental team. Most patients report that the experience is much more comfortable than anticipated.

  • How long do dental implants last?

With proper care and regular dental checkups, dental implants can last 15 years to a lifetime. They are made from biocompatible materials that are designed to integrate with your body and resist decay. Good oral hygiene and avoiding smoking are essential for long-term success.

  • What is the recovery time after getting an implant?

Initial recovery typically takes a few days to a week, depending on your individual healing ability and the complexity of the procedure. However, the full integration of the implant with the jawbone (osseointegration) takes 3 to 6 months. You'll be given personalized aftercare instructions to help ensure a smooth healing process.

  • Are dental implants better than dentures or bridges?

Dental implants offer several advantages over traditional dentures and bridges. They are permanent, don’t shift or move, help preserve jawbone density, and look and feel more natural. Unlike bridges, implants don’t rely on adjacent teeth for support, which helps maintain the health of neighboring teeth.

  • How much do dental implants cost in Bedford, NH?

The cost of dental implants varies based on each patient’s unique needs, including the number of implants required and any preparatory procedures such as extractions or bone grafting. At Dental Arts of Bedford, we provide a clear, personalized quote during your initial consultation so you know exactly what to expect.

  • Can I get a dental implant the same day my tooth is removed?

Yes! We offer immediate dental implants for qualifying patients. If you have sufficient bone density and no infection present, we can place an implant during the same appointment as your tooth extraction. This method speeds up the process, minimizes the number of surgeries, and helps restore your smile sooner.
